I've been in Fundrise for 7+ years now. Current portfolio is around $26K. I get $200-260 per quarter in dividends — it's not going to replace a paycheck, but it's genuinely passive and I haven't had to do a single thing since the initial deposit beyond reinvest dividends.
The illiquidity is real. This is not money you can access quickly. But for the portion of a retirement portfolio that you don't need for 5+ years, the diversification into private real estate is interesting.
Curious whether anyone else has tried this approach — Fundrise, CrowdStreet, RealtyMogul, or just REITs through a regular brokerage. What's working, what blew up, what do you wish you'd done differently?
